Pricing

Fixed monthly fees, and you will know yours before you commit

One agreed figure a month, no hourly billing for a quick question, and no invoice you did not see coming. Sole traders are priced on time, with a two-hour minimum. Limited companies sit on one of three packages, set by how much bookkeeping there is. Below is exactly what each one covers — we confirm your fee in writing after a short call, once we know what is genuinely involved.

We are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT added to our fees. If your business cannot reclaim VAT, that is worth a fifth against most other practices before you compare anything else.
Sole traders & landlords

Sole Trader

Priced on time rather than tiers, because no two sole traders look alike. A minimum of two hours' bookkeeping a month covers most people, and if a month runs longer you only pay for the hours it actually took.

  • Two hours of bookkeeping a month included
  • MTD-compatible software licence
  • Four quarterly updates filed
  • Final declaration or self assessment return
  • Unlimited email and phone questions
  • Annual tax planning review
Priced on time

A flat monthly fee covering two hours of bookkeeping and all your Making Tax Digital filing. If a month runs longer, additional hours are charged at our standard rate — only when needed, and always agreed with you first.

Over 300 transactions a month, or more than one company? That needs a proper look rather than a price on a page. Tell us what is involved and we will quote it properly.
Add-ons & one-off work

Any of these can be added to a package, or taken on their own. They are quoted individually because the work varies so much between businesses.

Questions people ask before signing up

Do I have to pay for a year up front?
No. Fees are monthly by direct debit, and you can leave with a month's notice. We will hand over your records and deal with your new accountant properly.
What if my business grows and the work doubles?
We review the fee once a year, and we tell you before we change it. If volumes jump mid-year we will have the conversation with you rather than quietly billing extra.
Is the software licence really included?
Yes, on the packages above — we hold the Xero subscription as your agent. If you would rather own the subscription yourself, we take it off the fee.
I am behind. Several years behind.
That is more common than you think and we are not going to make you feel bad about it. We quote the catch-up work separately as a one-off, then put you on a monthly package so it never happens again.
Do you charge for phone calls?
No. Questions during the year are part of the fee. Charging for the call just means clients stop ringing, and then we find out about the problem far too late to help.
